-MaLaYsIa-

Malaysia is located near the equator and experiences a tropical climate. This country consists of thirteen states and three federal territories in Southeast Asia with a total landmass of 329,847 square kilometers. The capital city is Kuala Lumpur, while Putrajaya is the seat of the federal government. Refer to appendix (1). The country is separated into two regions – Peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo which is Sabah and Sarawak- by the South China Sea. Malaysia is the federal constitutional elective monarchy. Malaysia head of state is the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the government is headed by a Prime Minister. Yang di-Pertuan Agong is elected to a five-year term among the nine hereditary Sultans of the Malay states; the other four states, which have titular Government, do not participate in the selection. The government is clearly modeled after the Westminster Parliamentary System, a legacy of British colonial rule. Since independence in 1957, Malaysia has been governed by a multi-party coalition known as the Barisan National which is formerly known as the Alliance.

Most Malaysian is granted citizenship by lex soli. All Malaysians are federal citizens with no formal citizenships within the individual states, except for the Sabah and Sarawak and the federal territory of Labuan in East Malaysia, where state citizenship is a privilege and distinguishable from the Peninsula. Malays who make up about 65% of the population followed by Chinese descent with 27% and Indians descent 8%. Non-Malay bumiputra groups make up more than half of the state of Sarawak’s population of which 30% are Ibans, and close to 60% of Sabah’s population of which 18% are Kadazan-Dusuns, and 17% are Bajaus. There also exist aboriginal groups in much smaller number of Orang Asli. The majority of the Indian communities are Tamils but various other groups are also present including Malayis, Punjabis and Gurantis. Therefore the overall population stands at over 27 million. Bahasa Melayu is the official language, but still English is widely spoken. Ethnic groups also have their own languages and dialects. Multiculturalism has not only made Malaysia a gastronomical paradise, it has also made Malaysia home to hundreds colorful of festivals.

Malaysia is also rich in natural resources in terms of agriculture, forestry and minerals. In agriculture, Malaysian the also known as the top exporter of natural rubber, palm oil, sawn log, sawn timber cocoa, pepper, pineapple and tobacco dominate the growth of the sector. Palm oil is also a main generator of foreign exchange. Concerning forestry resources, it is noted that logging only begins to make a substantial contribution to the economy during the 19th century. Estimated 59% of Malaysia today still remains forested. After 1960s, the rapid growth of timber industry has brought about a solemn erosion problem in the country’s forest resources. However, in the line with the government’s commitment to protect the environment and the ecological system, forestry resources are being managed on a sustainable basis and therefore the rate of tree felling has been on the decline. The Malaysian government provide plans for the enrichment of some of the land with rattan under natural forest circumstances and in rubber plantations as an inter crop. Fast-growing timber species for example meranti tembaga, merawan and sesenduk are also being planted to further the enhancement of the forest resources. At the same time, the cultivation of high-value trees such as teak and other trees for pulp and paper are also encouraged. Rubber, once the mainstay of the Malaysian economy, has been largely replaced by oil palm as Malaysia’s most important agriculture export.

Tin and petroleum are the two main mineral resources that are of major significance in the Malaysian economy. Malaysia was once the world’s largest producer of tin and it played a predominant role in the Malaysian economy. Petroleum and natural gas replaced tin as the basis of the mineral extraction sector. In the meantime, the contribution by tin has declined. Other minerals of some significance including copper, bauxite, iron-ore and coal together with industrial minerals such as clay, kaolin, silica, limestone, barite, phosphate and dimension stones for instance granite as well as marble blocks and slabs. Small quantities of gold are also produced.

Other than that, Malaysia also offers a prime tropical paradise that presents the angler with an opportunity to discover a truly Asian experience. Malaysia is rich with a fascinating diversity of cultures, captivating islands and beaches, striking heritage buildings as well as ancient rainforests abundant with enthralling flora and fauna. Therefore it is known as high diverse destination with nature at the door step. Beside that, tourists can shop for local handicraft or contemporary fashion, see the marine life at some of the world’s best dive sites, and dine on luscious Malaysian food. Moreover, Malaysia provides wide range of accommodation such as five star hotels, mid range, budget hotels, motels, apartments, resorts or ‘homestay’ which is staying with the local people to experience the taste of village life.

Translation in English

When I noticed I was thinking about you...
I felt very embarassed
And I really hate that feeling
That's because I'm afraid to convey my feelings

Even though I suppress it in my head I can't do anything about my heart
I don't let you notice it when we meet
So it can be normal how I plan to talk to you

To act so composed has started to hurt
Lying to you I will put away... but

A little more... A little more...
If I can get closer to your heart
A little more... A little more...
So that this moment won't end

Please God, give me courage

When I'm alone with my bad crazy thoughts
I worry about what you think of me
I'm sorry I stepped forward to try to let you know

I'm not myself, I don't like the fog around my heart
Depending on someone else makes me run away... but

A little more... A little more...
If I can get beside you
A little more... A little more...
Night does not continue once dawn comes
So wipe away your tears when you're feeling lonely

The glowing moon floats out into the heavens
I'm not stronger or more confident
See me smiling, look, OK?

A little more... A little more...
If I can get beside you
A little more... A little more...
Night does not continue once dawn comes

A little more... A little more...
If I can get closer to your heart
A little more... A little more...
So that this moment won't end

Please God, give me courage

Distance L.O.V.E

Hey, hi there. Well i'm about to write my very own special edition novel which i named it Distance L.O.V.E. This novel is about events that had been happening to me in my life. However, it is not 100% actually the real story. Some part was true and some fact i just made it up. For the name of the characters, i did not used their original names because that i'll keep as private and confidential. When the real person who involved in my life read about it, I'm pretty sure that they know i wrote about them. Let this be just like a puzzle for the reader. Including the person who involved in my story. The beginning of the story, i had made a few modification about the time and place setting. Beside, i also had included some of my imagination to make it more interesting. This story is truly dedicated to someone that is far away from me. Which i might not know how my real life would be. I did add some of my potential future details. The last character of my novel, i used his real name. This is because i'm really dying want to meet him. Maybe not today but maybe in my future life. That's all for a short brief. I will include the synopsis of my story. Then, followed by each chapters. So far in my planning, there are 11 total chapters. But it might change due to certain condition. I mean that when i used more of my imagination into it to make it look real. Hope you guys like it. And please do leave comments for my future reference to improve it. Thank you :)

ThIs Is My Story, AnD iT iS A tRuE StOrY

Below: Vany
Chichaq
Vany and Mumuk
Vany
Mrs Changau and Vany

When i wrote this article on my blank paper, it make me cry because i love this cat so much. I had this cat which i named her Chichaq. She is three colored female cat which my family and i adore the most. She had portrayed good family relationship towards her kitten. She had only one kitten left for her second generation which i named him Tiny. So far, Tiny was her only child. Her first generation of kittens did not survived because they are being eaten by the male cat. At the same time, my other cats Mrs Changau and Mrs Waffle had their babies too. After all the kittens had grown up, their mother (Mrs Changau and Mrs Waffle) had abandoned their kittens. I mean they stop breastfeeding their babies anymore even though their babies still need breastfeeding. But Chichaq did not do the same toward her baby but instead she breastfeeding all the other cats babies as well. If is not because of Chichaq compassion towards them, they would not have survived. Her loves is big enough for her kitten and the other cats' kittens. Meaning she is breastfeeding 6 kittens at one time. However, she does not know the consequences of breastfeeding exceeding the limit. This had happened to Chichaq's mother, Vany. Vany had breastfeeding all her babies and the other cats babies as well till her death. Vany is also very close to us. She and Chichaq was the best cats that we ever had. Unlike the others, Chichaq and Vany is loyal cats and they does not make so much noise especially during feeding time. They just wait for the food to be served. I cant remember when did Vany died but Chichaq had died recently on 29 September 2010. I did not watch my mum buried her because i will not stop cry if her face keep spinning on my mind. Just like during Vany's death.

"TrAiN tHe TrAiNeR CoUrSe"

Well, this afternoon (3 October 2010) i just came back from "Train the Trainer 3D2N course" at Tabung Haji Sembulan. We are learning many kinds of Malaysian dances as for promoting 'Malaysia Truely Asia'. The instructer teach us Malaysia Truely Asia dance, Chinese, India, Sumazau, Sarawakian dance, Malay dance, Orang Asli dance as well as Cuti-Cuti Malaysia dance. On Friday 01/10/10evening, my cousin and I went to Tabung Haji Sembulan for registration. That night we were brief about types of dances that we will be practising. There are many homestay operators came and students. On our second day, we had our breakfast at 7am and at 8am we start our lesson. Too bad the food is so super duper spicy Cry. The first dance that we learn is Malaysia Truely Asia dance. At first, it was confusing for me but after a while of practising, i can memorize it already. The others also have done good jod. Next, we are dancing Chinese dance. Chinese dance is so easy to memorize. I think the most difficult for me is that the Orang Asli dance (Tarian Sewang) which is from Pahang. But i keep on practising and i can memorize it a little bit. That Sewang dance is kinda unique because this is the first time i heard about this dance. Well, it do look funny. It was like Sid's movement from ICE AGE. But every tribe has it own unique cultures, right? So, i should be thank for the variety of culture in Malaysia. And i'm so happy for this experience to learn the dances. I will be the trainer to train the people in my village about this kinda of dance. This is because my village is under Homestay Program. Therefore, we all should take this opportunities to let the world know the variety and truely Asia lifestyles. I will post the videos that been taken soon Laughing.
